Driver Killed After Running Red Light

According to an article in the Chicago Sun-Times, the driver of a luxury SUV was killed after running a red light, striking a vehicle, then hitting a pole. The Cadillac Escalade struck the Kia at about 12:20am. The driver of the Kia was in good condition following the crash. Police are investigating the crash.

Drew Peterson's Bond Reduction Motion Denied

According to an article by the Sun-Times posted on myfoxchicago.com, Drew Peterson was denied a bond reduction by an Illinois Appellate Court.  He is currently being held in the custody of Will County on a $20 Million dollar bond and will have to pay $2 Million dollars in order to bond out of Jail.

Drew Peterson is accused of killing his third wife, Kathleen Savio, by drowning her in her bathtub. He still remains a suspect in the disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacy Peterson.

More Residents of Illinois Refusing Breathalyzer Testing

According to an article in the Pantagraph, the percentage of residents in Illinois who refused breathalyzer testing when stopped on suspicion of drunk driving (DUI) has increased every year since 2001. There are differing views as to the cause. Some people argue that attorneys are to blame for the increase, while others argue that the breathalyzer tests are subject to errors and question why people should submit to testing.

"Tank Girl" Charged with DUI

According to an article by the Associate Press posted on USA Today's website, actress, Lori Petty, has been charged with DUI.  She apparently struck and injured a skateboarder. She was booked and later released on $100,000 bail.

She has been in movies such as "Point Break", "A League of Their Own", and "Tank Girl".

Arlington Heights Will Start to "Boot" Cars With 5 or More Unpaid Tickets

According to an article in the Chicago Tribune an Arlington Heights man has received at least 510 parking tickets and over $28,000.00 in unpaid fines. This man has received all of these tickets by parking and staying too long in the villages downtown free two-hour parking spaces. Initially, the villages only remedy was to turn these violators over to a collection agency. However, the village can now boot cars with 5 or more unpaid tickets and tell the state to suspend the driver's license of ...

Preferential Treatment for a Chicago Cop?

According to an article in the Chicago Tribune Richard Bolling, a Chicago officer, is accused of fatally striking a 13-year-old boy on May 22, 2009 at 1:30 a.m. with his car.  After the crash, Bolling was five blocks away driving the wrong way down a one way street when officers discovered him. Bolling had allegedly been drinking earlier that evening at a bar on Chicago's South Side. He refused to submit to Breathalyzer testing but was later compelled to submit to testing four hours later.
