25 Year Old Charged with DUI after Accident on the Stevenson Expressway

According to an article from wgnradio.com, a 25 year old man was charged with DUI after driving the wrong way on the Stevenson Expressway, which lead to a head-on crash.  The driver was charged with aggravated driving under the influence.  Three people were injured in this crash.  The driver was also charged with driving the wrong way, along with the drunk driving charges.

Kane County to Have No-Refusal DUI Enforcement for 4th of July Weekend

According to an article in the St. Charles Republican, John Barsanti, the Kane County State's Attorney will work with local police this 4th of July weekend in an attempt to hold suspected drunken drivers accountable, even if they refuse to submit to breath tests.  There will be additional police officers on Friday and Saturday looking for possible drunk drivers.  There will also be a "streamlined process" in place for obtaining search " a warrant for a blood sample if an alleged drunken drive...

Waukegan IL Judge to Stand Trial for DUI

According to an article in the Chicago Sun-Times, Lake County Judge David Hall will stand trial for DUI on September 28.
Prior to the trial, attorneys will have a hearing on a motion to dismiss the Judge's blood alcohol tests.

Hall is a former chief judge of the 19th Judicial Circuit.  He was charged with DUI, resisting arrest, improper lane usage, and making an improper turn. The Illinois Attorney General's office is prosecuting the case. Hall was treated at a hospital for injuries sustained...

Hinsdale IL Police Cracking Down on DUI

According to an article by the Hinsdale Suburban Life, the Hinsdale Police Department will be staffing additional patrol officers through July 6 as part of an Illinois Department of Transportation initiative to crack down on drunken drivers. Stallworth Suspended Indefinitely by NFL

According to an article in Yahoo Sports, Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte' Stallworth was suspended indefinitely by the NFL after pleading guilty to DUI manslaughter this month.  Stallworth struck and killed a pedestrian who was crossing the street to catch a bus. Stallworth was sentenced to 30 days in jail, two years on house arrest, and 8 years of probation. He must also undergo drug and alcohol testing. More Residents of Illinois Refusing Breathalyzer Testing

According to an article in the Pantagraph, the percentage of residents in Illinois who refused breathalyzer testing when stopped on suspicion of drunk driving (DUI) has increased every year since 2001. There are differing views as to the cause. Some people argue that attorneys are to blame for the increase, while others argue that the breathalyzer tests are subject to errors and question why people should submit to testing.

"Tank Girl" Charged with DUI

According to an article by the Associate Press posted on USA Today's website, actress, Lori Petty, has been charged with DUI.  She apparently struck and injured a skateboarder. She was booked and later released on $100,000 bail.

She has been in movies such as "Point Break", "A League of Their Own", and "Tank Girl".

Preferential Treatment for a Chicago Cop?

According to an article in the Chicago Tribune Richard Bolling, a Chicago officer, is accused of fatally striking a 13-year-old boy on May 22, 2009 at 1:30 a.m. with his car.  After the crash, Bolling was five blocks away driving the wrong way down a one way street when officers discovered him.
